What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
We have asked staff uploading any images to the website to avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
When a visitor contacts us through the contact form on the site, we keep their name, email address and submission for a certain period for customer service purposes, but we do not use any of the information submitted through them for marketing purposes or pass that information on to 3rd parties.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. Who we share your data with
We do not share your data with anyone.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that have accounts on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Your contact information
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school’s Data Protection Officer at Dulwich Prep London, 38-42 Alleyn Park, London, SE21 7AA.
How we protect your data
We are protecting your data in two ways. First, we are ensuring that we have as little personal data as possible on the DPLhome.org site while still making it a useful resource. The site is in effect a front end to make the school’s internal systems such as Google Drive more easily navigable and to allow our pastoral teams to keep in touch with the community. As we are predominantly using links to access those systems, the bulk of the data is protected by the same systems we have in place at the school. For more information on these systems, please read our policies here. The data that is stored is post author information (name, email), post details, and the abbreviated names and/or images of community members featured in posts. Editorial control for the safeguarding of children featured in any posts rests with our Heads of Section and Designated Safeguarding leads and no images are published without parental consent.
What data breach procedures we have in place
Our data breach procedures are as those outlined in the School Data Protection Policy
What third parties we receive data from
We receive no data about our site users from 3rd parties.
